History of Hartland
It was in the 1930’s that a prominent philanthropist named J. Robert Crouse Sr introduced the idea of a better way of life to a small rural community called Hartland. He implemented various ideals for industries that would benefit both the township and the residents. He also started the Hartland Area Project with the motto: “Friendly Association for Community Service,” the motto that still has meaning today.
